To foster a more secure, inclusive, and equitable offshore wind industry, the Oceantic Network (formerly the Business Network for Offshore Wind) and Vineyard Wind are delighted to extend an invitation to diverse and underrepresented Massachusetts based businesses to participate in a complimentary one-day offshore wind supply chain training program.
The Offshore Wind Ready training aims to provide an insightful overview of the burgeoning offshore wind sector in the United States. It will equip participating businesses with the knowledge needed to enter the supply chain. The industry, long established in Europe and the United Kingdom, is now gaining traction in the U.S., aligning with the federal objective of generating 45 GW of offshore wind energy by 2045—enough to power 13.5 million residences and small enterprises. This presents a significant opportunity for local businesses offering goods and services relevant to the industry.
The initial step involves businesses understanding the industry's operations and identifying avenues to enter the supply chain. We are seeking your assistance in reaching out to Massachusetts-based businesses owned by underrepresented groups, including women, veterans, minorities, tribes, individuals with disabilities, members of the fishing community, and LGBTQ individuals. Thanks to our collaboration with Vineyard Wind, this training is offered at no cost (a $575 value).
