Chief Operating Officer

We are looking for an experienced and visionary leader to join MassCEC as our Chief Operating Officer (COO).  MassCEC is at the forefront of driving climatetech and clean energy innovation in Massachusetts, and we are seeking an individual with a proven track record in people and operational leadership with demonstrated experience scaling the systems, structures, and culture of a growing organization for long-term operational and programmatic excellence. The COO reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and is a key member of the Leadership Team. 

The COO advances the MassCEC's mission to establish Massachusetts as the global leader in climatetech through strong leadership and execution, serving as an exemplary model of the organizational culture. The COO is responsible for the organization's daily internal operational management, while creating an environment that supports career growth and promotes inclusion and belonging, in close collaboration with the Leadership Team. The COO serves as a representative for the CEO on all internal operational matters, underlining the significance of their role in achieving the organization’s mission, maintaining cohesion and alignment within the organization. Website Content Manager

The Website Content Manager is responsible for the daily oversight of our main website, MassCEC.com, including user experience, content strategy, content and website management, and reporting as well as working with our website vendor, marketing agency, and IT partner on upgrades and enhancements.

MassCEC.com has a steady flow of website content changes related to our grant and investments programs. As a climate change-focused quasi-state agency, we also seek to tell our story more engagingly. Our audience is the Governor of MA, other state executive branch agencies, non-profit organizations, state legislators, community-based organizations, students, employers, clean energy businesses, climatetech startups, and residents of MA. 

Ideally you’ll have previous experience managing Drupal websites. Ours is primarily an informational site but has a logged-in experience which provides access to a database for internship seekers, job seekers, and clean energy employers. You’ll help us optimize its usability and grow its functionality as needed. Read more. 

Marketing Manager - Residential Electrification

MassCEC seeks a detail-oriented, motivated and experienced candidate to oversee MassCEC’s marketing efforts targeting Massachusetts residents and small building owners through our Clean Energy Lives Here campaign and adjacent High Performance Buildings programs. Clean Energy Lives Here is a public education and awareness campaign that informs MA residents about decarbonized alternatives to fossil fuel-powered systems and appliances for their home and explains strategies for buying clean electricity. In the coming year, MassCEC plans to launch content and advertising for renters and property owners, as well as increase our support of electric vehicle adoption by this audience. Additionally, MassCEC is increasing the amount of Spanish-language content on the campaign website. The Marketing Manager for Residential Electrification will liaise between MassCEC staff, marketing and IT contractors, content creators, and other state agencies to evolve the content for Clean Energy Lives Here and report on campaign metrics. 

The ideal candidate should be passionate about driving behavioral change to achieve Massachusetts’ climate goals with a strong focus on promoting an equitable energy transition. The Marketing Manager must demonstrate excellent communication skills and enthusiasm for engaging the public on energy-related upgrades for their homes and transportation. The Marketing Manager should have experience managing marketing campaigns, engaging with stakeholders and the public in person, and selecting and managing vendors through an RFP process. Read more. 

Program Manager - Building Decarbonization

MassCEC seeks a motivated and experienced candidate to join the Building Decarbonization team as a Program Manager. The Program Manager will play a key role in designing and overseeing initiatives that are part of MassCEC’s efforts to unlock pathways for eliminating emissions from the Commonwealth’s buildings. This position will work to launch efforts and demonstrations to bring to market the core systems, business practices, and programs to make achieving the state’s 2050 net zero emissions goals a reality. Program Manager - Adult Training and Upskilling Workforce Programs

MassCEC seeks an experienced workforce professional to join MassCEC’s Workforce Development team as a Program Manager. Successful candidates will bring relevant programmatic experience paired with a strong commitment to helping Massachusetts achieve its 2050 net zero emissions goals in a way that focuses on effective training solutions, employer-informed workforce development practices, and equitable solutions to support environmental justice neighborhoods and other underserved and underrepresented populations in the clean energy sector. Read more. 

Accounts Payable Administrator

The ideal candidate for this position is a team player with strong analytical skills, curiosity, and an exceptional work ethic. The person working in this role will be able to manage timelines, accomplish a variety of tasks, and will have excellent Microsoft Office skills, particularly using Excel. The Accounts Payable Administrator will report to the Controller and will work closely with the will interact with all levels of the organization.  The person in this role will also support the overall activities of the Finance Department as needed. Read more. 

Investment Associate

The Massachusetts Clean Energy Center (MassCEC) seeks a proactive self-starter to join the venture investments team. The Investment Associate will work with the Investments team to accelerate the advancement of technology, job growth, and economic development in the Massachusetts Clean Energy Industry. The Associate will report to the Investments Principal and will work alongside the Investments team to source, evaluate, make, and manage equity and venture debt investments in the most promising clean energy companies in Massachusetts, and to assist with other related programs. This is an opportunity for a hardworking and motivated candidate to take ownership of significant responsibilities and build a venture capital skillset while developing deep relationships across the Massachusetts clean energy sector.
